Black Bears

Team History

Black Bears Polo Club, situated just outside Henley on Thames, was set up by Urs Schwazenbach in the mid 1980's. It was certain that his son Guy would continue the tradition and in 2006, due to his father's unfortunate accident this became the case. Guy stepped in to play the rest of the High Goal Season and Black Bear’s, under their new patronage went on to win the Gold Cup with Guy scoring the winning goals in the semi’s and the finals. Today, Black Bears continues to be a leading team in the British High Goal Season and a force to be reckoned with.

Black Bears Polo Club is also home to British Polo Day Great Britain and being the home turf event in British Polo Day's annual calendar, it rally's immense support and interest.
